The triangle of love
The triangle of love
AIS, a school, about 400 students, 1 boy and 2 girls. This is the story of Kyle, Marissa and Jessica. Marissa and Jessica are close friends but in love with the same boy.
What could possibly go wrong?
Exactly everything.
Marissa is a very emotional girl that has a talent for drama. Jessica is a talented dancer and thinks of herself as a person that is strong inside. People say that she shows her feelings and that she can change her feelings easily. Marissa is kind of the opposite. She is not as strong as Jess and can't change her feelings easily. She can't forget what happened in the past. Mari and Jess are both in love with Kyle but Jess doesn't know about Mari loving the same boy as her. Every time Mari writes something about him or her in her blog, she would change the names and write that it is a book that she is reading. She wants to show her feelings and write it down but she is scared that Jess will get hurt, thats why she started the whole book thing. Mari was not sure if Jess knew about her love life but she knew that Jess likes Kyle too. The drama begins and she is getting more and more confused. She doesn't want to hurt her friend and she doesn't want to lose her, but she does like Kyle. Sometimes Mari feels jealous about Jess.
She wrote a blog entry about her sad feelings:
.....
You r better [than] me.
You love him [more] than I do.
You know more about him [than] I do.
You r with him more [than] I am.
You r just better [than] me in [everything].
I [can’t keep up] with [ya]...
In [nothing] I can compete with ya...
Sometimes I’m really [jealous of you].
[Jealous] of what [you are], [jealous] of what you [can be] and [jealous] because you can control the things [you want]...
That were Mari's feelings and she gets more and more depressed everyday. She wants Kyle but she doesn't want to hurt Jess. It seems like there is no end to this situation but after some weeks, Jess realized that Mari likes Kyle too and confronts her.
"Mari! I have a question. Please answer it honestly."
"Yeah, of course. What's up?"
"You know, I kind of got an idea. Do you…uhm...like Kyle? Please be honest. I can handle it!"
"Sigh...Yes, I do. I thought you knew it but all your comments were about comforting me and telling me that you don't know what's going on, so I didn't know what to do. I really don't want our friendship to end here. I know you really like him and that you can't forget about him, how hard you try, I know you can't. But so do I! I can't forget him and I do want to be his girlfriend. What do you think…?"
"I can't believe it! You knew exactly how I feel about him! How could you? I thought you were my friend but you tried to get him behind my back! You knew that I was in love for so long! I hate you!"
"Jess! Calm down! I don't know who he likes but I do know that he doesn't like you. I'm really sorry that I didn't tell you before but I was scared. Scared that I will hurt you. I never tried to get him behind your back! I never did! I swear! You are one of my close friends! Please...I'm begging you; don't let our friendship end like this!"
"I can't! I'm serious. I don't trust you anymore! I don't want to see you again! He is mine! Keep distance from him! I don't know you!"
"Jess...please...don't! I...I..." Mari couldn't finish her sentence because Jess slapped her and then turned around. Tears were rolling down Mari's face and she couldn't believe that that was the end of their friendship. Meanwhile, Jess runs down the seven floors of their school with anger in her face. She didn't feel bad; she didn't think that she was wrong ,she didn't care about Mari. While running down, she ran past Kyle. He was surprised but didn't say anything. He was on the way to the seventh floor. When he got there, he saw Mari sitting on the stairs, crying. He didn't know what to do because he hates to see her crying. It makes him feel sad and hurt at the same time. What does it say about Kyle and Mari’s friendship? That there is more than friendship? After talking to Kyle and telling him everything, she felt much better. He told her to go home and to take a rest. She did what he told her to do and she keeps thinking how this will end. She lost a friend but was it her fault? The next day, Kyle talked to her at lunch.
They talked about their relationship and at the end; he gave her a kiss to show that he had a new girlfriend. She was happy and sad at the same time. Somehow, she didn’t see Jess and later she found out that she just wanted to stay at home for some days. Everyone was sad and Marissa played with the thought to break up with Kyle because she felt so guilty but he stopped her. He convinced her that it wasn’t her fault. He told her that Jess would be fine again. Therefore, Marissa stayed with Kyle.
After some days, things got complicated again. Friends, that encouraged her to stay with Kyle and not to care about other people's feelings turned their back on Kyle. Mari couldn't understand it. They encouraged her but insulted Kyle. It's not his fault, it's his feelings and you can't control feelings. Everyone seemed sad and they didn't want to talk to her. They tried to be normal but Marissa felt that their was something wrong with them. Something that made her sad. At lunchtime, Mari saw Jess and wanted to talk to her again but the anger that she had turned to sadness and that made Mari feel very guilty. She sent her a message but all Jess replied was that : ":))". She was confused and sad. She really didn't mean to hurt her feelings. Mari felt depressed again. How could this happen? She felt so bad that she wanted to ask some adults for advice but she couldn't. Luckily, their teacher told them to write down a question about anything they want and to give it to him. Everything was anonymously, so she could tell him everything and ask for advice. The teacher's advice didn't help her much. He said that her friend will calm down again if she is a true friend. If she won't, then just find new friends.
This situation made her so worried that one day she fainted in P.E. class and had to go to the hospital. Many old friends, that once turned their back on her returned and apologized. She felt better and better but not good enough to leave the hospital. Kyle visited her daily and comforted her. The day came, where she could leave the hospital. She was very happy and sang on the way home. When they arrived at home, the electricity was off, so they had to go in without light. It was 6 pm already and the everything was dark. Suddenly, the lights turned on and the whole room was decorated as if they were partying. She felt so relieved but one thing made her smile the whole night. When she changed her clothes, someone was behind her. Someone hugged her and told her that she was sorry for what she did , and that she realized that friendship is more important than a boy . That she now knew that everything she did before was childish. And that someone was ......Jess.
